1st Annual Geek Force Five Tournament Participants Announced

We are pleased to announce the full lineup of participants for the 1st Annual Geek Force Five Tournament. Check out the updated bracket on our official March Madness page. Voting for the first round winners will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17, 2009.
As far as we’re concerned, the marquee match-ups in the first round are Judd Apatow vs. Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the Movies & TV bracket, Superman vs. Preacher in the Comics bracket, Apple vs. Diggnation in the Games & Tech bracket, and High School Musical vs. Nirvana in the Music bracket.

GAH! So many juggernauts against the little guys! I guess that’s how brackets work...but I want Y The Last Man AND Fables in the finals! Why are they against Batman and X Men bahhhh

Yeah, I’m sad that Y and Fables seem destined to be one-and-dones, but I tried to do things as fairly as I could. I didn’t even start with the bracket. I started with a list, numbered 1 through 16, and slotted things in based on influence and popularity with the general public.

Hehe… I should’ve monkeyed with things a bit more once I saw the matchups, but I wanted to be as fair as I could and just leave things where they were based on where I slotted them into the top 16 list.
I had a hard time placing D&D;. Yeah, my tech bias definitely showed a bit. It probably should’ve been higher.
