CLASH OF THE TITANS Remake
by E. Christopher Clark | Thursday, June 4, 2009

The original 1981 version of Clash of the Titans was one of the earliest movies I remember watching and rewatching and kind of obsessing over. I loved Greek mythology, and Judi Bowker as Andromeda didn’t hurt either, but the truth of the matter is that it’s a film that doesn’t really hold up anymore. At least it didn’t the last time I tried to watch it a couple of years back. And that’s why I’m excited to hear that there’s a pretty stellar cast being assembled for the Titans remake directed by Louis Leterrier. Sam Worthington, from the new Terminator flick, is playing Perseus, Ralph Fiennes is following up his performances as Lord Voldemort by playing Hades, and Liam Neeson is on board as Zeus. This is not to mention that they’ve secured Bond girl Gemma Arterton to play Io and Alexa Davalos as Andromeda to bring the sex appeal. This is a story that needs to be made into a great film, and this new version seems like it’s headed in the right direction to me.

As long as that cheesy stop motion Gorgon is in the movie, it’s a go…
