Geek Force Five Now Headquartered in the 01824
For the first time ever, the fifth member of my Geek Force Five will be a place instead of a person. Beginning next Monday, January 12, GeekForceFive.com will play host to a new, text-based Webisodic series named for the zip code of the town I grew up in. 01824 will chronicle the lives of the residents of my fictional version of Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Those who have read Those Little Bastads or worked with me in any fiction workshop over the last few years will be familiar with some of the characters I’ll be taking a look at in the first few months—Robin, Carl, and Ian—but you needn’t know anything about my writing to jump on board. All you need is a desire for a good yarn.
The series will run five days a week and will operate on a schedule similar to that of a television season. During breaks, it’s my intention to fill the void with stories on the real Chelmsford, particularly the real Chelmsford of the early 1990s, the inspiration for all of the fiction I’ve been working on for the past five-to-ten years. If you’re from Chelmsford yourself, or you have a story about someone who is, and you’d like to share that story here, please drop me a note at .

If this wasn’t such an intriguing idea, I’d be pretty miffed that you dropped Apple. But this is cool enough that I’ll let it slide. ;) Looking forward to reading about 01824. Ever thought about turning an episode into a comic?

Glad you like the idea. :-)
I am definitely thinking of adding a visual component to the series. And while it’ll be primarily text-based, I might even do a video or two eventually.
