Friday Flashback: Lindsay Lohan vs. Allison Stokke
Editor’s Note: This entry originally appeared on June 4, 2007 on ChrisClark’s now-defunct Weblog, A Few Choice Words.
On the one hand, we’ve got a certifiable glory-whore who produces more headlines with her late-night antics than she ever has with her creative output. And, on the other hand, we’ve got a talented student athlete, who just happens to be a beautiful girl, and who would prefer to be left completely alone by the media. It sort of boggles my mind that the girl who actually deserves some news coverage (for her skill in pole vaulting, and not her good looks) would rather be ignored, while the girl who hasn’t done anything worth talking about since she stopped filming Disney remakes* seeks out the press in any way she can.
*I like her first record, but that was more of an achievement in record production than in vocal performance.

It’s a year later, and I’m posting this now because I sincerely wonder if anything has changed with Ms. Lohan. What do you think?
But when was the last time you heard the name Allison Stokke, for that matter? Thank god everyone’s finally decided to leave that girl alone.

And almost exactly another year later it was that I found a pic of Allison Stokke while looking up stuff for the track and field world championship here in Germany.
First thing that came to my mind was “jeez, omfg, what a damn fine gal”. Of course the pic I stumbled upon was one of these with non-saying names and there was no descriptive text either.
Now, a month later I found out her name and, thank god, more pics.
She looks like a girl should look. Everything matches perfectly in terms of measurements and additionally she looks sexy in a classy way. What else one could ask for?
She really should do some shootings.
And if she doesn’t like media attention she should be forced to do them, damn it.
And that Lohan crap… Well, some unshaped pile of flesh and fat (sadly like most girls), no brain and some serious psychic problems it seems.
Everyday you can wonder what weird aesthetic taste people got…
E. Christopher Clark says:
Serious psychic problems? Are you implying that she can read minds?
:-)
I think you mean psychological problems, which I think most people would agree that Lindsay does have to one extent or another.
Anyway, thanks for adding your thoughts here, controversial though they might be.
