Following up on his Oscar-nominated performance in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler, Mickey Rourke will apparently appear at this year’s Wrestlemania pay-per-view event. And not just appear. No, he will actually be wrestling, according to Extra and Ain’t It Cool News.

I haven’t seen the film yet, but I’m already ready to echo what AICN’s Beaks said, just based on the good things I’ve heard about the flick. Sayeth Beaks, “There will be (probably already are) those who claim that Mickey Rourke has irreparably harmed his Best Actor campaign…While these people are entitled to their opinions, it is important to note that they are morons, and that I would like to body slam all of them.”

Most important question: If he wins the Oscar, does he get introduced to the Reliant Stadium crowd as “Academy Award Winner Mickey Rourke”?
