Photographers Dina Goldstein and Brittany DeWester are doing really interesting work involving the reimagining of Disney princesses. As the father of a three year old girl obsessed with Ariel, Belle, and Sleeping Beauty—she refuses to call her Aurora, or even Briar Rose—I always get a kick out of seeing these figures reinterpreted in crazy ways. Goldstein’s work has been featured in JPG Magazine, while DeWester has a whole set of princess-themed photos on Flickr. Some images are disturbing, and some are downright amusing, but all of them are compelling as all get-out.

And hey, if creepy princess photos aren’t your thing, why not check out these creepy recreations of childhood fears as photos?
