Scarlett Johansson Isn’t Not in IRON MAN 2

Capone at Ain’t It Cool News interviewed Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau over the weekend at SXSW in Austin, and Favreau didn’t deny rumors that Scarlett Johansson and Mickey Rourke were joining the cast of the film.

I can’t confirm any casting stuff because there have been no announcements made… [but] [t]here are no big surprises in casting coming that I can foresee [laughs]

Rourke was tremendous in the Wrestler so thumbs up. Miss Scarlet pretty much looks exactly like I would imagine Black Widow would look like...if she were a terrible American actress. She was great in Ghost World (my favorite Clowes comic) and in Lost in translation so I don’t know what happened. This could top Halle Berry as Catwoman.

Yeah, I’m not sure what’s happened to Scarlett either. But I have faith that the right director can pull a good performance out of her. I think she’ll be great. She certainly has the sex appeal necessary for the role. Just needs some hair dye, and she’ll be perfect.
