Comment Moderation is On

By E. Christopher Clark | Mon, May 19, 2008

Major spoilers for the Lost season finale have been leaked online, and it’s anticipated that the League of Assholes will soon be doing their best to spoil every single person they can, including all of you who do not want to be spoiled. In order to (hopefully) eliminate the chance of them spoiling the season finale for Geek Force Five readers, I am turning on comment moderation for the next week and a half. If your comments are slow to turn up on the site, that’s why. I’ll be personally checking through every comment before it goes live.

Last Week on Lost: Cabin Fever

By E. Christopher Clark | Thu, May 15, 2008

Teasing tonight’s episode for Entertainment Weekly’s Doc Jensen, Lost executive producer Damon Lindelof says, “Press conferences, funerals, and surprise parties.... Oh my!”

All of the teases that I’ve seen for this episode have been great, and I am huge fan of finales anyway, so this one will probably end up on my list of top ten favorites pretty darned quick.

In the meantime, here (below the fold) are some of my thoughts on last week’s episode, “Cabin Fever,” which was much cooler than I expected it to be, given the general suckiness of John Locke as a character this season.

More Sneak Peeks from “There’s No Place Like Home”

By E. Christopher Clark | Wed, May 14, 2008

DarkUFO has three more video sneak peeks from this week’s episode of Lost, plus a text-based sneak peek courtesy of Kristen dos Santos.

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting more and more pumped for this episode every minute. I only hope that I finish covering the Apple Store opening fast enough to make the bus that will get me home in time to catch the show. I never thought one of my obsessions would stand in the way of another one, but it looks like that day might have finally arrived.

All I can say is that iTunes better have that episode available first-thing on Friday morning, or there’ll be hell to pay.

LOST: There’s No Place Like Home - Sneak Peeks

By E. Christopher Clark | Tue, May 13, 2008

DarkUFO has posted three sneak peeks from this week’s episode of Lost, which is titled “There’s No Place Like Home.” I’ve embedded the most substantial of them above, and let me just say that I’m happy as all hell that we’re getting a tense scene between Jack and Sawyer here. We should all give thanks to CarLost, who seems to be responsible for encoding these clips (and many others that I’ve featured here before).

LOST: There’s No Place Like Home

By E. Christopher Clark | Fri, May 09, 2008

The two-part season finale of Lost begins next Thursday, May 15, at 10 p.m. Included above, in case you didn’t stay tuned to catch it last night, or in case you just want to see it again, is the first trailer for next week’s episode.

Um, can we say awesome. Yes, kiddies, I think we can.

In other Lost news, the Hollywood Reporter is reporting that seasons five and six will each be seventeen hours long. That’s an hour longer than originally intended, and it’s because of the hours lost to the writer’s strike.

Last Week on Lost: Something Nice Back Home

Teasing tonight’s episode for Entertainment Weekly’s Doc Jensen, Lost executive producer Damon Lindelof says, “Nothing like a good jungle trek to give Locke and Ben a chance to discuss the notion of fate—and even Jacob weighs in on the topic.”

As I’ve said before, I’m not a huge fan of John Locke right now. But any episode which features Ben in a prominent role is going to be a good one. So, thank you Mr. Lindelof for getting me a wee bit more excited than I was before. Today’s going to be a long day, but I’ll definitely be staying up for this one.

In the meantime, here (below the fold) are some of my thoughts on last week’s episode, “Something Nice Back Home,” which I re-watched on the bus ride into work this morning (all the while trying to ignore my laptop’s inability to keep the video and audio in sync while on battery power).

Last Week on Lost: The Shape of Things to Come

By E. Christopher Clark | Thu, May 01, 2008

Teasing tonight’s episode for Entertainment Weekly’s Doc Jensen, Lost executive producer Damon Lindelof says, “Remember after the finale last season when everyone was asking us why Jack was blathering on about his father in what turned out to be our first flash-forward? It was just the booze and pills talking, right? And hey...why did he start taking pills in the first place?”

All interesting questions, Damon. I hope that you guys manage to answer at least one of them tonight, because it’s been a terrible day and I really need some Lost awesomeness to pick me up right now.

Until then, let me attempt to reconstruct the piece I wrote about “The Shape of Things to Come” on this morning’s bus ride, which was before my laptop’s hard drive decided to shit the bed.

Lost 4.09 Countdown: Day 7 of 7

By E. Christopher Clark | Thu, Apr 24, 2008

photograph of an Otherville house blowing up on LOST

A new episode of Lost is less than an hour and a half away, but I’m not sure I’m going to still be awake when the awesomeness arrives. It has been a very long week, and while I have no doubt that I could stay up until 10, when the show starts, I have serious doubts about my ability to stay up until 11, when the show ends.

Then again, if I rely on iTunes to deliver me an electronic copy of the episode before I have to leave for the bus tomorrow morning, I might be sorely disappointed.

Decisions, decisions…

Lost 4.09 Countdown: Day 6 of 7

It’s been a busy and stressful day at Geek Force Headquarters. Thankfully, aside from the release of the new NIN single, there hasn’t been much news to report.

The really good thing about a busy day, though, is that all the craziness keeps a guy from aching for that next slice of Lost heaven as bad as he otherwise would.

We’re a little more than twenty-four hours away from awesomeness, people. Get ready.

Lost 4.09 Countdown: Day 5 of 7

You know that new Lost is getting close when video clips from the upcoming episode start showing up online. DarkUFO has three of them. His rumors section also has some very interesting (and potentially very spoilery) tidbits on what might be coming in “The Shape of Things to Come”, most of which I’m inclined to believe, based on other things that I’ve read. And, if you’re itching for news straight from the horse’s mouth, there’s also a new interview with Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof online now at MovieWeb.
