Lost: What’s in Hurley’s Guitar Case?

By E. Christopher Clark | Fri, Oct 16, 2009

Hurley and his guitar case from LOST

DarkUFO has an interesting poll up right now that asks readers “Which of these items is in the Guitar Case?” The guitar case, you may remember, is an object that Hurley is brings aboard the Ajira flight that brings the Oceanic Six (or, well, five of ‘em) back to the island. But we never see what’s inside of it. And the only thing we know about where it comes from is that Jacob had it before Hurley had it.

Among the options are an ankh (my choice), Karl’s brainwash glasses, and the obvious pick: Charlie’s guitar. Go fill out the poll and then come back here and tell me what you voted for and why.

Jorge Garcia Naked, On Unicorn, With a Flaming Sword

By E. Christopher Clark | Mon, Sep 28, 2009

drawing sent to Jorge Garcia (Hurley from LOST) of Jorge naked on a unicorn with a flaming sword in hand

Straight from the blog of Jorge Garcia himself comes this one of a kind piece of fan art. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t know how much I wanted to see Hurley from Lost naked until I saw him riding bareback on a unicorn with a flaming sword in hand.

Katey Sagal to Get LOST Again?

By E. Christopher Clark | Tue, Sep 15, 2009

Locke and Helen in a scene from LOST

Katey Sagal’s Helen was one of the best things to ever happen to John Locke on Lost, both in terms of Helen’s impact on Locke’s life within the story and in terms of how Sagal made Locke-centric episodes bearable to watch for me as a viewer. When we learned that she had died—or had she?—in last season’s “The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham,” I was definitely sad. So, the news from DarkUFO that she will be returning in season six was awesome to hear. Apparently, she’s trying to convince Darlton to bring back Julie Bowen’s Sarah too. And more Julie Bowen—I was a huge Ed fan back in the day—is always a good thing.

And, speaking of Lost, there is also news that we’re going to see in-flight 815 action again, we’re going to get more of Locke in the wheelchair, and we might be seeing Jughead again, too.

I fell behind on the Lost rewatch, but I’m catching up. And that’s the only thing that’s making the wait until January anything less than excruciating.

Kate Austen’s Phone Sex Ad

By E. Christopher Clark | Wed, Sep 09, 2009

11 Points has a fantastic list of the 11 early roles the cast of Lost wishes we’d forget, and I think the best one is Evangeline Lilly in a Canadian phone-sex ad. I just never would have expected it at all.

Coming in a close second is this one of a mutton-chopped Michael Emerson (Benjamin Linus) getting his ass kicked by Catherine Zeta-Jones in The Legend of Zorro. At least that’s my #2. Which ones (if any) do you like best?

Don’t Dis MYSTERIES OF THE UNIVERSE, Man

By E. Christopher Clark | Tue, Sep 08, 2009

Lostpedia is down on the latest installment of Mysteries of the Universe, because it doesn’t solve any mysteries. But me, I likes it. Maybe it’s because I was a big fan of Unsolved Mysteries back in the day—it scared the shit out of me, but I loved it—or maybe it’s because I’m a ridiculously huge Lost fan and will defend anything to do with the series. I’m not sure. All I know is, I think Mysteries of the Universe: The Dharma Initiative is a pretty rad piece of Lost goodness. After all, it’s all we’ve had to tide us over until this week. Now, sure, we’re learning about filming at the Honolulu airport and filming at the Swan site, and we’re hearing that “season six will have a fairly significant spiritual bent”, but let’s not forget what’s been tiding us over all summer. Let’s not forget Mysteries of the Universe.

Am I right or am I right?

Weird Puppet Master Dude from HEROES to Appear on LOST

By E. Christopher Clark | Tue, Sep 01, 2009

headshot of the actor David H. Lawrence

David H. Lawrence’s Eric Doyle remains one of my favorite Heroes villains, and I’ve grown quite fond of the actor thanks to his Twitter stream and his appearances on Geek Brief TV. So, I’m more than a little giddy to learn that this fine fellow will be appearing on Lost during season six. Here’s the scoop, direct from his Twitter page:

And gave me the part. I’m gonna be on #LOST, muthafucka. One episode to start, maybe more. Headed to Hawaii Monday, on hold for three weeks.

This guy is good, and he certainly seems excited. Awesome, no?

P.S. I’m digging the ABC House promos that ABC are putting out. Have you seen ‘em yet? Here’s one with Ben and Sawyer from Lost welcoming the new characters from ABC’s comedy Wednesday.

LOST - More Season Six Whispers

Okay, so, is it January yet? I mean, seriously: the wait for Lost is starting to get excruciating. Yes, I realize that I’m going to be plenty busy with work and other projects between now and the season premiere, but I just want the wait to be over. Don’t you?

I mean, let’s look at all of the stuff that’s been popping up recently. Jorge Garcia has come out and said that he’s read the script for the sixth season premiere, which will apparently be called “LA X,” and says, “it’s pretty freaking exciting.”

Meanwhile, there are casting calls out for a polished, sympathetic, and very efficient public relations rep for high-profile company and a dude who is “[o]verworked, harried from a long day and many hours, faced with a highly adrenalized situation that forces him to remain calm and tests his ability to keep his wits about him—a test he fails as panic wins out.”

Then, of course, there’s the news that Hiroyuki Shimosawa, a Japanese actor who’s appeared here in the States in The Last Samurai and Rush Hour 3, will be joining the cast, and the scoop from E! Online’s Kristen on what’s in store for Sawyer next season.

Man! They’ve only just started filming and things are already going nuts in Lostville. It’d be easier if we were still doing The Lost Rewatch here in the Clark household, but we had to stop because Kaylee never goes to bed early and we can’t watch the show with her awake. What are you guys doing to pass the time?

Lennon Coming to LOST?

By E. Christopher Clark | Wed, Aug 19, 2009

photograph of John Lennon

Okay, so I’m itching for Lost news. One of the good things about the summer being nearly over—one of the only good things—is that we are that much closer to the sixth and final season of Lost. Sure, it’s still a good five and a half months away, but that’s a lot better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick (or a Sharpie, for that matter).

Anyhoo… DarkUFO has news of a casting call for a character named Lennon, which gave me a perfect excuse to post a completely unrelated photograph of the only person I can think of when someone says the name Lennon (or Lenin, for that matter… is that weird?)

Lennon: Scruffy, edgy, charismatic, and slightly stir-crazy, Lennon can be deferential when it’s called for.

He’s the spokesperson/translator for the president of a foreign corporation. He’s a wily negotiator, and far more powerful than his lowly position would seem to indicate.

Recurring.

Interesting, huh?

Okay, yeah, it’s not really interesting. But it’s something, right? And that’s got to count for… um… something.
