LOST: Spectacular Kisses, Deaths, and Funerals
After a couple straight weeks of feeling like I was on top of the world, both emotionally and physically, I came crashing down over the weekend. I’m not sure why. Anyway, ever since, I’ve been feeling a little bit like Sawyer in the picture I’ve included above.
There’s been some crazy-cool Lost news breaking while I’ve been away from the site, though. Kristen from E! Online has come out and said that the one April Fools spoiler that was true is actually good news, and that it involves one of her all-time favorite Losties. There are also whispers that Sun, Jin, and Kate may have been spotted filming scenes on the freighter, that there will be a “spectacular death” this season, and that we’re going to get at least a glimpse at the funeral of Christian Shephard.
None of this is making it any easier for me to wait until next Thursday for new episodes, so I’ve been going back in time and re-watching the show from the beginning. I’m more than halfway through season one now, and I’m guessing that I’ll get through most of season two before “The Shape of Things to Come” airs on April 24. So far, the only interesting thoughts I’ve had while re-watching the old episodes have centered around realizing that certain character’s backstories were more interesting than I remembered (Michael) and certain characters backstories were decidedly less interesting than I’d wanted to believe they were (Charlie).
What are you doing to maintain your sanity during Lost’s hiatus?
Dominated Lip Sync (Video)
My high school/college-era band played only three songs during our first show, way back in the autumn of 1996, and Green Day’s “Dominated Love Slave” was one of them. It was the only one that I sang lead on, and it was the one song that we played at pretty much every show we ever did.
Because I’ve been lax in my blogging today, and because you all demanded it (you did demand it, didn’t you?), here’s a vid of me lip-syncing to that lost classic. Enjoy!
Geek Force FiveCast 011 (Video)
I took a break from prepping my classes for this week to geek out about the announcement of a three-hour Lost season finale and the arrival of my copy of the physical CD version of Ghosts I-IV by Nine Inch Nails.

LOST: The Shape of Things to Come
Entertainment Weekly’s Jeff Jensen paid a visit to the set of Lost recently, and he’s back with all kinds of teasery goodness. DarkUFO has a good summary of the teasers up in his spoilers section. And, as if that weren’t enough, ABC released another sneak peek at the first post-break episode, “The Shape of Things to Come,” which I’ve included above.
I’ll save my thoughts on the teasers for below the fold because, while I consider them teasers and not spoilers, not every reader will necessarily agree with me. If you want to stay pure, stay out. If not, continue on.
An Extra Hour of LOST?!?
The Internet is abuzz with rumors that Lost fans will get one extra hour of show in season four than was previously expected. DarkUFO’s non-spoiler blog has a nice rundown of the rumors. If you want the gist of it though, here goes: the executive producers met with ABC to pitch the idea of a two-hour season finale, despite the fact that the season is currently scheduled to end on the same night that biggie-sized finales of Ugly Betty and Grey’s Anatomy are slated to air. The outlook is good, apparently, but nothing has been settled yet.
You already know what I’m going to say about this: the more Lost, the better. But what about you? Do you think they’re trying to cram too much in before the summer break? Will the show suffer quality-wise because of these moves?
