Kelly Taylor Returns to West Beverly High

Monday, May 12, 2008

A quickie-post for our good friend, Bethany: Ain’t It Cool News is reporting that Kelly Taylor will be the new guidance counselor at West Beverly High. That’s right, Jennie Garth is joining the cast of the 90210 sequel/spinoff.

Pretty hilarious to think of Kelly Taylor as a guidance counselor. But then again, she’s gone through every crisis a teenager could experience (nose job, date rape, cocaine addiction, caught in a house fire, amnesia, shot...), so who better to help the kids out?

In other breaking 90210 news, I just read that the one and only Tori Spelling might be returning to my favorite zip code. Is it Christmas, or does it just feel like it?! grin

So I’ve been thinking that what the GF5 Reserves need is a weekly article about 90210. I’d like to start with a Top Five Best Episodes for each character. These lists will be based on highly scientific research, meaning I will pick the episodes that stick out most prominently in mind (and, when stuck for ideas, I will turn to Wikipedia).

So the question is: Will anyone care but me?

And the secondary question is: Do you want me to waste a few minutes of my time each week doing this?

I think I meant those questions in reverse.

I think that, given the age range of the average reader here, everyone has at least a morbid curiosity about what’s going on with that show, if not a genuine curiosity.

And I would totally be willing to post anything you wanted to write about 90210 on the site. I think of Geek Force Five as something that could eventually become much more wide-spread than me. We could even have http://www.geekforcefive.com/bethany at some point and http://www.geekforcefive.com/greg (for my pal Greg, who’s mentioned collaborating in the past), and so on…
