Where, exactly, are Ben and Locke moving this bookcase? And, more importantly, why are they moving it?

Find out when Lost returns this Thursday, April 24. Boo-yah!

Lost 4.09 Countdown: Day 2 of 7

Here’s another photo from the next episode of Lost, “The Shape of Things to Come.” Isn’t it cute? But, hey, consider this: if Hurley’s holding Aaron, and Hurley’s not particularly good with babies (he admits this himself in “Ji Yeon"), then where’s Claire?

Lost 4.09 Countdown: Day 1 of 7

photograph of Sawyer and Hurley from LOST playing a game of Risk

For the next seven days, while all of us Lost fans continue to go apeshit every time ABC puts out a new promo and every time DarkUFO posts a new teaser about somebody getting **** ** *** ****, I thought it would be nice to take a nice, relatively non-spoilery look at some pix from the upcoming episode.

This one, the one I’ve posted above, is one of my favorites from “The Shape of Things to Come.” Sawyer and Hurley are playing a game of RISK! This was, like, my favorite board game growing up. Sure, we never missed a chance to argue at the conclusion of a match, but every time we played I got to hear my dad refer to Kamchatka as Camel-Crap. And that’s a priceless childhood memory if ever there was one, isn’t it?

Less than a week to go now, people. Can you feel it? Can you smell it?!?

Another Hollywood Strike? Lostpedia Looks at the Possibility

By E. Christopher Clark | Thursday, April 17, 2008

Lostpedia has posted an excellent piece on the potential ramifications of an actors strike for my favorite television program, Lost. I’m not sure why a show scheduled to air in mid-season would start filming in August, but, whether they’re right or wrong on that score, they still make a few very good points.

The bad news is that SAG has been publicly unsatisfied with the terms of the recent DGA and WGA deals, a dissatisfaction that Iger and Chernin were apparently unable to budge. SAG head Alan Rosenberg said as much in a letter to his membership, although he has been meticulous in denying that he “wants” a strike.

Lostpedia also points out that there is some “good news.” As they put it, “both parties are avoiding the public mudslinging that made the writers’ talks so spiteful and unproductive” by releasing bland press releases that essentially amount to a news blackout.

Here’s hoping that the actors get what they deserve, but that they don’t need to strike to do so.

LOST: Spectacular Kisses, Deaths, and Funerals

By E. Christopher Clark | Wednesday, April 16, 2008

photograph of Sawyer (Josh Holloway) sitting at a bar during the first season of LOST

After a couple straight weeks of feeling like I was on top of the world, both emotionally and physically, I came crashing down over the weekend. I’m not sure why. Anyway, ever since, I’ve been feeling a little bit like Sawyer in the picture I’ve included above.

There’s been some crazy-cool Lost news breaking while I’ve been away from the site, though. Kristen from E! Online has come out and said that the one April Fools spoiler that was true is actually good news, and that it involves one of her all-time favorite Losties. There are also whispers that Sun, Jin, and Kate may have been spotted filming scenes on the freighter, that there will be a “spectacular death” this season, and that we’re going to get at least a glimpse at the funeral of Christian Shephard.

None of this is making it any easier for me to wait until next Thursday for new episodes, so I’ve been going back in time and re-watching the show from the beginning. I’m more than halfway through season one now, and I’m guessing that I’ll get through most of season two before “The Shape of Things to Come” airs on April 24. So far, the only interesting thoughts I’ve had while re-watching the old episodes have centered around realizing that certain character’s backstories were more interesting than I remembered (Michael) and certain characters backstories were decidedly less interesting than I’d wanted to believe they were (Charlie).

What are you doing to maintain your sanity during Lost’s hiatus?
